About Doomcakes

Stephanie (aka Doomcakes) has been a music fan since her earliest memory. Raised in small town West Virginia, she was brought up on classic country music, and later discovered alternative rock radio as an adolescent, much to the dismay of her parents. A love of alternative rock quickly grew to include grunge, then punk, and finally doom metal. As an adult, Stephanie carries her love of these genres with her as she scours the underground stoner/doom scene, always on the lookout for undiscovered talent or the coolest new band. 

These days, Stephanie is primarily a fan of stoner rock, desert rock, psychedelic rock, and grunge. Just don't ask her what her favorite band or song is, unless you have a spare few hours to listen to her drone on about the merits of just about every band she's ever listened to, all while going off on tangents and down rabbit holes. 

In addition to listening to ungodly amounts of music, Stephanie is a bit of an athlete and loves strength training. She also has some very un-metal hobbies, including cooking, studying new languages, learning and annoying people with random scientific facts (with an emphasis on biology and anatomy/physiology), visiting museums, various art projects, and watching documentaries. What a nerd. 

Stephanie is active in the stoner/doom scene on Instagram and Facebook. She has also been an active contributor to the Doom Charts since September 2023. 

Furthermore, Stephanie has been dubbed the "Queen of Doom" as well as the "Chief International Embassador of German Heavy Underground Music". 

She drinks too much coffee, and she knows things.
