Wasteland Haze Releases "Fresh Hits from the Vault PT. 1" EP

Wasteland Haze is an instrumental stoner/doom band from Dusseldorf, Germany. These guys pack many different influences into their heavy brand of instrumental fuzz rock, including doom, stoner rock, psychedelic rock, and desert rock. The band has quite a knack for creating sonic images that take the listener on an epic journey, proving that you don't need words to tell a killer tale. Not only that, but Wasteland Haze are well-known in the German underground stoner rock scene not only for their awesome music, but for their tireless devotion to shining a spotlight on the talent in their local heavy underground scene. In fact, the band often takes it to the streets, as seen below...

...and maintains an amazing playlist on Spotify that showcases some of the best bands in the German stoner/doom scene:

Now, the band has released their newest EP, Fresh Hits from the Vault PT. 1. While these songs have been previously released, they're now together in one place for the first time.

There are five tracks on the EP:
  1. Harvest: postrock/stoner doom with fat, fuzzy riffs and catchy hooks
  2. The Journey: A track with an intro that evokes the power of the almighty Sleep leading into some ambient sounds and a memorable outro.
  3. Ark: a ten-minute doomy juggernaut with some slow and heavy-hitting psychedelic vibes.
  4. Tidal Shapes: A soaring, upbeat number that's a bit out of the norm for Wasteland Haze, but certainly a success as the band puts their trademark spin on this kaleidoscopic groove.
  5. Aftermath: A live version of this classic Wasteland Haze track performed at the Backyard Club, Recklinghausen.
