Cripta Blue to Release Two Singles Ahead of New Album, Due Out in October 2024
Cripta Blue is a three-piece psychedelic doom band from the historic city of Ravenna, Italy. Formed in 2019, the band has already released one album and several singles. They specialize primarily in blending rock with psychedelic influences and the proto-doom sound of the late 60s, but you'll find that Cripta Blue's sound is truly one of a kind.
My first time hearing the band was when they released the single No Return on August 6, 2024, and I was immediately smitten with their sound. My first thought was,"What a breath of fresh air!" This is a montage of sound that's so unique yet incredibly familiar. There's a little bit of everything going on here, yet the result is still polished and sophisticated, but delightfully eccentric and dark. A retro, groovy psychedelic vibe lifts it all up while an unholy proto-doom demon pulls it back down. Not only that, but the amount of dimension and heaviness Cripta Blue creates with only three musicians is absolutely massive. A sound such as this is a neon indicator pointing toward a band that unabashedly lets their creativity take the wheel, without regard to the confines of genre affiliations. It's as if you put the band members' unique influences into a machine and this killer tone is what was spat out. Of course, utilizing a machine would be easy...Cripta Blue concocts this genre-bending sound on their own, demonstrating their skilled musicianship and songwriting prowess.

No Return is the first of two singles the band intends to deliver prior to the release of their upcoming album in October 2024, via the awesome Argonauta Records. These tracks promise to give listeners a glimpse into not only the bad's current collage of sound, but will also clue them in to the ever-evolving nature of Cripta Blue's music.
